A wonder goal from Andros Townsend seals 3 points for The Toffees, as they come back from behind to win 3-1 against Burnley.
Andros Townsend’s fantastic strike finished off another comeback win for Everton as victory over Burnley moved them level on points with the Premier League’s top 3.
However, the first goal of the game came from Burnley. Jóhann Guðmundsson received the ball by the right touchline and swung in a left-footed cross that was so accurate it had Burnley players queueing up to nod the ball home. The man who got the deciding touch was Ben Mee on 53 minutes.
7 minutes later, it was to be Everton’s turn to score. Andros Townsend, who arrived at the blue half of Liverpool in the summer on a free transfer from Crystal Palace, swung in a great cross and Michael Keane was the man on the spot to level the scores with a headed goal of his own against his former club.
Townsend then scored himself 5 minutes later with a beautiful curling finish into the top corner from 25 metres out, which sent The Toffees’ fans at Goodison Park wild.
Then it got even better for the home fans, as just a minute later Abdoulaye Doucoure’s sweet through-ball completely dissected the Burnley defence and found Demarai Gray, who smashed a shot past Nick Pope in the Burnley goal, for his 3rd goal of this campaign so far.
The 3-1 victory was an amazing turnaround for Rafael Benitez’s side, who now sit in 4th position, but level with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool on 10 points after an unbeaten start to the campaign. Burnley drop into the relegation zone, as they now occupy 18th position in the Premier League table.
