Juventus Drop into the Relegation Zone!

Ante Rebić strikes for Milan to level the scores at 1-1 at full-time, after Álvaro Morata scores for the hosts in this Serie A fixture. Juventus drop into the bottom 3!

Ante Rebić rescued a point for Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan side to leave Juventus still winless in Serie A this season.

Morata, who inspired Juventus to victory over Malmö in the Champions League in midweek, scored his 3rd goal in 3 games to give the hosts the perfect start against an AC Milan side missing many key players, including Zlatan Ibrahimović, Olivier Giroud, and Davide Calabria.

The 1st goal of the game came straight from a Milan corner in the 4th minute. Paulo Dybala played a through-ball to a completely unmarked Morata just inside the Juventus half, before the striker went clean through on goal and coolly chipped the ball over Milan keeper Mike Maignan to make it 1-0.

With 15 minutes of the game remaining, Rebić nodded in a Sandro Tonali corner off the far post and into the net, to level the scores. The Juventus defending was poor as the striker was allowed a free header.

Pierre Kalulu almost stole the points for Milan after Rebić equalised. However, Wojciech Szczęsny preserved a point for the Turin club with a close-range save.

The 1-1 scoreline leaves Massimiliano Allegri waiting for a 1st league win in his 2nd spell as Juventus boss after taking them to 5 league titles in his 1st spell at the club. He has started his 2nd spell by overseeing one of their worst league starts for 60 years. It is only the 4th time in their history (after 1961-62, 1955-56, and 1942-43), that Juventus have failed to win any of their first 4 Serie A matches.

The result means that AC Milan are in 2nd place in Serie A. They are level on points with leaders Inter Milan but have an inferior goal difference. Meanwhile, Juventus drop to 18th position and into the relegation zone.
