Juventus notch up their first win of the season, away to Spezia. Kean, de Ligt, and Chiesa are on target for Juventus, as they win 2-3.
Matthijs de Ligt’s second-half goal earned Juventus both their first victory of the Serie A season at the fifth attempt and their first win without Cristiano Ronaldo since the forward left to re-join Manchester United. The 3-2 win on Wednesday moves Massimiliano Allegri’s side out of the bottom 3.
Dutch defender de Ligt scored in the 72nd minute to give Juventus all 3 points and complete the comeback after his side had been 1-2 behind.
Moise Kean had earlier put the visitors 1-0 up in the 28th minute with his first goal since re-signing for the club. He fired into the bottom corner, off the inside of the post, after a long ball over the top of the Spezia defence from Adrien Rabiot.
5 minutes later, however, Spezio forward Emmanuel Gyasi powered in a fine finish from outside the area to equalise. Then Janis Antiste put Thiago Motta’s Spezia team ahead 2-1, with a lucky deflection, to leave Juventus seriously facing the prospect of another shock defeat.
The visitors, however, found an extra gear in the second half. Italy forward Federico Chiesa forced his way into the penalty area, through an ineffective Spezia defence, before making the scores level in the 66th minute with a powerful strike.
De Ligt then scored to secure the win for his side 6 minutes later, with a left-footed volley, after Spezia failed to clear a corner.
The victory moves Juventus from 18th to 12th in the Serie A table, as Allegri earned his first league win since taking over as coach for the second time in the summer. Spezia stay in 16th position despite the loss.
