AC Milan and Atlético go head to head in this mouthwatering match on Tuesday evening. Can either of these European giants register their first Champions League win of the season?

AC Milan and Atlético Madrid will both go in search of their first wins of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League during Tuesday’s Group B matchup at the San Siro in Milan. Stefano Pioli’s Milan side lost 3-2 to old rivals, Liverpool, in the opening match week, and Atlético never really got going in a 0-0 stalemate with Porto.

Milan’s long injury list has been somewhat shortened by the returns of Davide Calabria and Olivier Giroud. Calabria is surely fit enough to play and he will hope to displace Pierre Kalulu at right-back.

However, the evergreen Zlatan Ibrahimović is still doubtful as he is struggling with an Achilles problem. Alessandro Florenzi, Tiémoué Bakayoko, and Rade Krunić all look likely to miss out too.

Pioli is supposedly hopeful of having Simon Kjær fit for Tuesday, while Brahim Díaz should displace Daniel Maldini, despite his great goal at the weekend against Spezia.

Atlético defender Stefan Savić continues to serve a lengthy European suspension and will not be available here, but João Félix is eligible to play despite currently serving a domestic ban of his own.

Thomas Lemar remains Diego Simeone’s only absentee injury problem, as he has a quadriceps issue. Koke was fit enough to make the bench last weekend against Alavés and he will be pushing for a place here over Central African Republic’s Geoffrey Kondogbia.

José Giménez is sure to return to the backline in place of the suspended Savić, while a refreshed Félix will feel confident of replacing Antoine Griezmann in attack.

Expect a hard-fought draw in this game. Our prediction is 1-1!
