Our series on the greatest English Premier League (EPL) strikes continues with a look at more wonder-goals!
7. Georgi Kinkladze (Manchester City V Southampton, 1995-96)
Georgi Kinkladze was one of the best dribblers that the EPL has ever seen. Renowned for his close control and ability to beat a man, the tricky Georgian made his name at Manchester City in the 90s. He scored 27 goals in the English Premier League and this is his finest and the one that everyone remembers!
Receiving the ball out wide, Kinkladze beats the first man with a quick drop of the shoulder before shimmying the opposite way and darting towards the goal. Southampton defenders dive and slide at his feet, but nobody can get near him as he jinks through and lobs the ball home. Such flair might not be a luxury for Man City these days, but even now, do Manchester City have any players that could do this?

6. Eric Cantona (Manchester United V Sunderland, 1996-97)
This was perhaps the ex-Manchester United man’s finest moment. Eric Cantona begins the move himself, by winning the ball on the halfway line, beating two men, and driving forward. The Frenchman then finds Brian McClair who waits for Cantona’s run before playing a pass that finds the Machester United legend on the edge of the Sunderland box. Instead of smashing the ball goalwards, Cantona decides to apply an audacious chip to beat Lionel Pérez in the Sunderland goal!
It could be argued that this sweet finish should be higher on our list. In truth, you could put forward a credible argument for this being the greatest Premier League goal of all time, but wait until you see what’s coming next!
5. Thierry Henry (Arsenal V Manchester United, 2000-01)
Another Frenchman, Thierry Henry is arguably the best foreign player ever to grace the EPL. He left English football with a long list of achievements and moments he will cherish, but this has to be his finest! The fact that it was against Arsenal’s big rivals at the time, Manchester United, would only have made it sweeter!
Henry takes the ball on the edge of the area and chips it into the air on the turn, before hitting an unstoppable volley. The ball soars over Fabien Barthez’s head and into the back of the net, and it all happens so fast that no goalkeeper on Earth could stop it!
