France Produce a Stunning Comeback!

Les Bleus fight back from two goals down, to beat Belgium 3-2 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Theo Hernandez nets the winner on 90 minutes!

Theo Hernandez netted a stunning 90th-minute winner, as France came back from 0-2 down to sink Belgium and reach the Nations League final.

Didier Deschamps’ French outfit looked out of the game at half-time after shipping two goals in the space of four minutes. However, a sensational second-half fightback set up an encounter with Spain in the final on Sunday.

The match started well for Belgium. They took a 37th-minute lead when Yannick Carrasco cut in from the left and fired in a finish which wrongfooted Hugo Lloris in the France goal at his near post.

Just four minutes later, Roberto Martinez’s side made it 2-0 as Romelu Lukaku collected Kevin De Bruyne’s through ball and fired a fierce shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Karim Benzema pulled a goal back on the hour mark. He collected Kylian Mbappe’s lay-off and beat several Belgium players with quick feet. He then slid a right-footed finish past Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Then, after Youri Tielemans’ trip on Antoine Griezmann inside the area, France drew level through Mbappe’s sweetly taken penalty.

Lukaku thought he had won the match with three minutes remaining. He slotted the ball in from Carrasco’s low cross, but the strike was ruled out for offside by VAR.

However, AC Milan full-back Hernandez was the match-winner for France. He received the ball on the edge of the box and smashed home a finish into the far corner. The goal ignited scenes of French celebration at the Allianz Stadium in Turin!
