Leicester Battle Brighton For the Carabao Cup!

Leicester City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion at King Power Stadium for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup clash. Which of the two English Premier League (EPL) teams can progress into the EFL Cup quarter-finals?

Leicester are on a four-match-long winning streak in all competitions and they will want to keep it going. Brighton, on the other hand, dipped in form recently, and after four straight Premier League draws they lost 4-1 to Manchester City last Saturday. Despite all of this, the Seagulls still occupy a very decent fifth position in the EPL, while Leicester are ninth.

Brendan Rodgers was getting worried as the Foxes were anything but consistent at the beginning of this season but with the last few results, things seem to be getting back on track.

And while it has certainly been a team effort, one name keeps coming up everywhere these days, that of Zambian forward Patson Daka. Why? Because in his last three matches for Leicester he scored five times (four of which in the match against Spartak Moscow) and even added an assist! Daka is absolutely a man in form. The question is, will Rodgers start his offensive star or leave him on the bench and go with other fresh faces such as Harvey Barnes or Ayoze Perez?

Graham Potter will very likely rotate his squad as well, as he did in both of the two previous EFL Cup bouts this season. It is possible we will finally get to see Yves Bissouma return to the line-up after his month-long absence, and expect Lamptey to get a shot as well.

The two teams are no strangers to each other. They last met in the EPL only a month ago and Brighton won 2-1. Leicester won the two matches before that, again with only a single-goal difference. Expect a close match with the Foxes coming up on top as they are the team in form right now.
