How Many Goals Are Liverpool Going To Score This Time?
Liverpool welcome Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield tomorrow afternoon. Does the current fifth top team in the English Premier League (EPL) stand a chance against the second Reds?
Liverpool are on top right now. Not literally, as Chelsea sit one point above them in the EPL, but they are flying high after demolishing Manchester United at Old Trafford 5-0 last week. And while Liverpool were dominating one Manchester team, Brighton were on the receiving end of the other, as they lost to Manchester City 4-1.
Graham Potter’s Brighton are a bit of a Cinderella story this season. Just about nobody expected to see them anywhere near the top five, yet here they are, nine games into the season and they are fifth. The problem is, they did dip in form recently. The Seagulls drew three of their last five competitive matches and lost the other two. With Liverpool now standing in their way, we are having a hard time imagining they stand a chance of getting back into the winning seat.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are on such a long unbeaten streak, they probably even stopped counting. They scored at least two goals in 13 of their last 14 EPL matches with Mohamed Salah leading the way. Salah is scoring goals left and right and he has been deservedly called the best player in the world right now. We are looking forward to seeing what he has in store next. Perhaps yet another goal of the season candidate? It would not surprise us at all.

If there is one thing playing in favour of Brighton, it is the fact that Liverpool were unable to beat them last season. Brighton actually won their last match in February 1-0, but Liverpool had a long list of absentees, which is most likely the reason for such a result. Now that they are in full power, we don’t think the Seagulls stand a chance and we predict an easy 3-1 victory for the Reds.
