Two so-called ‘smaller clubs’, who have put on good performances this season, square up in East London on Wednesday evening. Will Brighton bounce back from defeat, or will Moyes’ Hammers smash The Seagulls?

Brighton & Hove Albion make the trip to West Ham United on Wednesday night, looking to end a run of two successive losses in the English Premier League (EPL).

The Hammers remain in fourth position in the EPL table, whereas the visiting Seagulls are down in ninth, after not registering a win in any of their last eight top-flight fixtures.

In West Ham squad news, Aaron Cresswell is reported to be struggling with a back injury, while Vladimír Coufal could get the nod at right-back, with Ben Johnson probably playing on the left.

Jarrod Bowen will almost certainly be recalled by head coach, David Moyes, to the starting lineup, taking the place of Congolese star, Arthur Masuaku.

Having netted a fantastic consolation strike at Manchester City, Manuel Lanzini will be hoping to keep his place in preference to Saïd Benrahma, or Pablo Fornals.

Meanwhile, for Brighton, Graham Potter may continue with the back four which started in the 0-0 stalemate with Leeds United last time out. The English manager might, however, consider changes in more advanced positions.

Zambian midfield star Enock Mwepu, Solly March, and Alexis Mac Allister are all making their cases for a recall.

However, Tariq Lamptey may not be gambled on twice in the space of a few days after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Despite Potter being fairly happy with the performances of his team, The Seagulls are not heading to East London in a confident mood. That should contribute to a comfortable victory for The Hammers, who may take control with a couple of early goals.
