Tottenham Play Host to Brentford in Gigantic EPL Encounter!

Conte will be seeking to notch up another EPL win. Brentford look to climb out of mid-table obscurity. What will happen in London on Thursday?

On Thursday evening, Tottenham Hotspur play host to Brentford in North London, in the English Premier League (EPL). Antonio Conte’s side saw their game with Burnley postponed over the weekend, while the Bees overcame Everton 1-0.

Spurs, go into this game sitting in 7th place in the EPL on 19 points. After a blistering start to the season, Brentford are currently mid-table, in 11th place and with 16 points.

Antonio Conte must continue to cope without Cristian Romero, with the Spurs’ boss apparently fearing that the centre-back’s hamstring injury is “serious”. Fellow Argentinian, Giovani Lo Celso, also remains a doubt.

Dane Scarlett has an ankle issue but was never going to replace Harry Kane, who will be hoping to make Brentford the 31st EPL team he has found the net against.

Colombian centre-back, Davinson Sánchez, was named in the first XI last weekend, so Conte could persist with the original lineup named ahead of the rescheduled Turf Moor fixture.

An injury-ravaged Brentford saw winger, Sergi Canós, and left-back, Rico Henry, both forced off in the win over Everton. However, boss, Thomas Frank, is confident that both players will recover in time for this game.

The same applies to Christian Nørgaard, but Mathias Jørgensen is more of a doubt. Meanwhile, the Bees must manage without Josh Dasilva, David Raya, and Kristoffer Ajer.

Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa will both come into contention for starts if Canós and Henry are not fit enough to feature from the first whistle.

In the final third, Bryan Mbeumo’s spot could come under scrutiny, considering the forward has now gone five matches without scoring.

Brentford boss Frank has more injury concerns to deal with than Conte, and his side are not exactly great at keeping clean sheets away from home. Therefore, we expect Tottenham to be victorious in a hard-fought battle.

Our prediction is a 1-0 home triumph for Spurs, with the goal netted in the second half.
