Inter Make the Trip to Madrid for Epic UCL Face-Off!

First place in Group D is up for grabs, when two giants of the Champions League go head-to-head in Madrid!

Two titans of European football collide when Real Madrid welcome Inter Milan to the Bernabeu, in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) on Tuesday evening.

Los Blancos currently lead the group, two points ahead of second-placed Inter, with both teams already having qualified for the UCL knockout stages.

In team news, Real Madrid will again have to manage without services of Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos through injury. Meanwhile, in-form hitman, Karim Benzema, has also been ruled out with the hamstring issue that he sustained last weekend against Real Sociedad.

Los Blancos have a huge game against the La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid, next weekend, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see boss, Carlo Ancelotti, ring the changes for this encounter.

Casemiro and Dani Carvajal will possibly be along those rested ahead of the Madrid derby, but Federico Valverde, Lucas Vázquez, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Jović, and Marco Asensio may all come into contention for starts.

For Inter, Aleksandar Kolarov, Joaquin Correa, Andrea Ranocchia, Matteo Darmian, Stefan de Vrij, and Christian Eriksen are all certain absentees.

Head coach, Simone Inzaghi, is expected to resist the temptation to make wholesale changes from their victory against Roma last weekend, but there are likely to be two or three alterations. Midfielder Arturo Vidal and striker, Lautaro Martínez, look most likely to benefit.

Alexis Sánchez  will also be hoping to secure some game time in the final third of the pitch, while Stefano Sensi could take the place of Marcelo Brozović in the centre.

Our prediction for this one is a 1-1 draw, with two goals netted in the second half. Expect a tight encounter, with both sides effectively cancelling each other out.

Real Madrid possible starting XI:
Courtois; Vázquez, Militão, Alaba, Mendy; Valverde, Camavinga, Kroos; Vinícius, Jović, Asensio

Inter Milan possible starting XI:
Handanović; D’Ambrosio, Škriniar, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Sensi, Vidal, Ivan Perišić; Džeko, Martínez
