All the action from this Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League encounters! Who was successful in the final group games, when the sides locked horns for a place in the Last 16?

Benfica qualified for the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), at the expense of Barcelona on Wednesday evening, after dispatching Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 at the Estádio da Luz.

Roman Yaremchuk gave the hosts the lead on 16 minutes, before Gilberto Júnior made it two six minutes later, to hand the Portuguese club a well-deserved triumph.

The result meant that the Eagles progressed to the Last 16, after a disappointing Barcelona were swept aside 3-0 by Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, at a snowy Allianz Arena.

Elsewhere, Red Bull Salzburg progressed on a freezing evening in Austria, thanks to an impressive victory over Sevilla.

Noah Okafor’s 50th minute goal guaranteed Matthias Jaissle’s side a 1-0 win. Die Roten Bullen finished one point behind group winners, Lille, and second in Group G with 10 points.

The La Liga outfit also saw midfielder, Joan Jordán, sent off, making a miserable evening for boss, Julen Lopetegui, even worse.

Meanwhile, France’s Ligue 1 champions, Lille, defeated Bundesliga side, Wolfsburg, 3-1 at the Volkswagen Arena to secure first place in Group G.

Turkish hitman, Burak Yılmaz, gave the French visitors the lead on 11 minutes and forward, Jonathan David, doubled their advantage 18 minutes from time.

Former Manchester United youngster, Angel Gomes, made it 3-0, before Renato Steffen added a Wolfsburg consolation on 89 minutes.

In Group F, Atalanta’s clash with Villarreal was postponed because of heavy snow in Bergamo.

‘The match will be resumed on Thursday 9 December at a time to be determined by UEFA,’ Atalanta stated on their official Twitter account.
