Manchester United look to stay in the hunt for the Champions League. Wolverhampton Wanderers hope to get their bid for European football back on track. Let’s check out all the pre-match talking points!

Manchester United will be seeking back-to-back wins in the English Premier League (EPL) when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford on Monday evening.

While Wolves‘ scheduled Thursday clash with Arsenal was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the Red Devils defeated Burnley 3-1.

United’s victory over Burnley extended the red half of Manchester’s unbeaten run to eight matches across all competitions – a streak that leaves them seventh in the EPL table before Sunday’s games. Ralf Rangnick’s men are now four points behind fourth-placed, Arsenal, but with two games in hand.

With only one win to show from their last six EPL matches, Wolves‘ European charge has lost a lot of momentum in recent weeks, as the West Midlands outfit occupy eighth spot in the EPL – six points adrift of their upcoming opponents.

In team news, Manchester United playmaker, Bruno Fernandes, returns from a suspension served in midweek, so Jadon Sancho’s spot in the XI could be in danger, after Mason Greenwood’s strong showing in midweek.

Meanwhile, for Wolves, Bruno Lage may decide to utilise the same formula which earned a 0-0 draw with Chelsea in their last EPL game. Therefore, João Moutinho, Rúben Neves, and Leander Dendoncker could all start in the middle, but Adama Traoré will fancy his chances out wide against Luke Shaw, so will be pushing for inclusion.

We predict a narrow win for the Red Devils in this showdown, with the net bulging in the second half.

Manchester United possible starting XI:
De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Greenwood, McTominay, Matić, Fernandes; Ronaldo, Cavani

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting XI:
Sá; Kilman, Coady, Saïss; Hoever, Neves, Moutinho, Marçal; Traoré, Jiménez, Podence
