Valencia Journey to Bernabéu for Enormous La Liga Showdown!

Los Blanco’s superstars welcome Valencia to Madrid for a crucial La Liga clash on Saturday evening. Can Real Madrid extend their lead at the top of La Liga, or will Valencia pick up three massive points in their bid for a Champions League spot?

Real Madrid will be hoping to return to winning ways in La Liga when they entertain Valencia on Saturday night in the Spanish capital.

Los Blancos are currently top of Spanish top-flight table, five points clear of second-placed Sevilla. Meanwhile, Valencia occupy ninth position, having accumulated 28 points from their first 19 games of the 2021/22 season.

Real Madrid have triumphed in three of their last four league matches including a 2-1 success when the two teams did battle in the reverse fixture, at the Mestalla Stadium back in September.

Los Murcielagos go into Saturday’s encounter off the back of a 2-1 win over Cartagena in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, but in their last La Liga fixture they suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Espanyol.

For Real, there should be a host of changes from the XI that featured against Alcoyano in the last round of the Spanish cup. Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Karim Benzema are all expected to return. Vinicius Junior may also be back in the side, after COVID-19 self isolation.

As for Valencia, Hugo Duro will miss out through suspension, while Gabriel Paulista, Dimitri Foulquier and Toni Lato are occupying the treatment tables.

Head coach, José Bordalás has decisions to make, especially in the forward line, with Maxi Gomez potentially teaming up with Gonçalo Guedes.

Denis Cheryshev, Jose Gaya and Omar Alderete will also be among those optimistic about returning to the side, following the Copa del Rey win over Cartagena last Wednesday.

Valencia are capable of causing Ancelotti’s men problems, but we believe that an enthralling match will be shaded by Real Madrid 2-1. We also expect Los Blancos to win both halves.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; , Militão, Alaba, Mendy; Kroos, Casemiro, Modrić; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius

Valencia possible starting lineup:
Cillessen; Correia, Diakhaby, Alderete, Gayà, Soler, Guillamón, Wass, Cheryshev; Guedes, Gomez
